I got this info from http://dodgeram.info/2001/models/1500.html

Off-Road Group
--- Includes the Heavy-Duty Service Group, limited-slip rear differential, unique suspension, special skid plates, tow hooks, 4.10 axle ratio, fog lamps, special graphics, and 17" cast aluminum wheels w/ 275/70R17 off-road tires

Many of the different packages are blended together on our trucks. For instance mine has the:

- Light Group
- Heavy Duty Service Group
- Sport Appearance Group
- Trailer Tow Group
- Leather Interior Group
- Convenience Group
- Monotone Paint
- SLT Decor Group
- Travel Convenience Group
- Off Road Group

....all these packages and yet it didn't come with something as simple as keyless remote!!!!!!!!

I bought my truck 2.5 years ago for $15,900 with 70K miles on it. Part of the sale included new tires at cost and intake gasket replacement. So far I've put another 40 thousand miles on it and am happy with my truck. It has pulled anything I've put behind it without a problem. But, if someone were to offer me at least $12K for it, I'd probably sell it.

As long as I stay on top of the maintenance and odd quirks that these trucks are known for, it should last for awhile.

Thanks for the info thats what I was looking for. Prices range from 10 to 14 depending on condition and miles. I'd like to get the lowest miles but also would like a clean one. Found a silver sport off road that I will look at next. Thanx to everyone who responded.

my best advice to your search is to just be patient. when I was looking for my last Ram I knew I wanted the Off-Road package, and they are few and far between here in Nebraska. I looked for over 6 months and finally found what I was looking for (for the most part, didnt really want the Sport Package but settled with it) Dealers tried to convince me that the Off-Road package was nothing but a lifted half-ton and tried to sell me whatever they had on the lot, don't fall for their games and don't settle for something you don't want. The Off-Road package is awesome and worth the effort to find

I couldn't have said it better! When I first got mine, I didn't really know what the Off Road sticker on the tailgate really meant. But then I did some looking around on the web and at other Rams and realized that the O.R. is a hell of a package! It's great when the manufacturer listens to the public and actually builds what public wants.

I didn't know that I had something special. 01, off road with only 53k miles. Only drive it back and forth to church. There's a mud hole between the 2.

I still love the truck.

I just bought an 01 Black Off-road with regular cab short bed...I love it...why does everybody have 275/70/17's? I've got 265/70/17's on mine.

275's was the size they had from the factory.

Right now I'm running 265/70/R75 on mine too because when I bought the truck I was driving 120 miles a day for work and wanted a size that would roll easy on the Interstate. Since then my commute has been reduced to 15 miles, so I'll be buying bigger (at least 285) in a few months when I need to replace the tires.
