Time for new shocks, whats your pref
I have the OE 1996 shocks on my truck still, needless to say, its really time for new shocks. I dont want to go with mopar; A, because they are overly expensive; B, because they arent as good (imo) $:$ as some other companies. Im looking at bilsteins for $121 each, and KYBs for $49. No lift, No lowering. I like my ride hight, I like my ride. The one thing I would like to change is how the truck squats from a stop at WOT. More squat would be nice, but not all the time. Im thinking of adjustable shocks for the rear, but I cant find any. What are my options out there, what have you tried, and what do you like?

I just changed mine out to Edelbrock IAS Performers ... HATE them! I replaced the stock crap at about 4k miles with high pressure gas charged because the OEMs were too soft. Wore out 2 sets of those and thought I'd try some "higher performance" stuff. Apparently, "smooth and comfortable" = "wallows like a boat". I want a FIRM ride. My guess is that maybe Rancho 9000's would have been a better choice. IIRC, they're adjustable. I'd be running them on "9".

i recently installed a dual shock conversion kit on the front end of my truck and bought rough country hydro 8000's by heckethorn offroad for it and i love the ride they are exellent! so good i upgraded and got rough country nirtogen charged shocks for the rearend just havnt had time to put them on yet.
but for the ride quality and the price i think they cant be beat! the 2 nitro's for the rear were only $80 delievered.

I would highly recommend procomp shocks. I used to have the 9000 series before the lift and they worked great. Not to stiff, but much less body roll than the stockers. If you want a little softer ride go with the 3000s. They both have 9 stage valving in them. Basically they are same thing as ranchos only they cost much less. I dont remmember exactly but I think it was less than $200 shipped for four and a steering stabilizer is included for free when you buy 4. Procomp also makes some reasonably priced 6 way adjustable shocks. I now run skyjackers, I have dual front shocks so its stiff, I think they were also more money.
