what u guys are running lift and tire wise
ok i know its another tire post but i want to put some bfg all terrains 37/12.5r17 and i want to put them on the factory offroad ram rims i have a 5 inch lift and i was thinking of putting a 2 or 3 inch body lift i would just like to know what u guys are running and if u have major rubbing or just minor and if the offroad rims have enough back spacing to clear and what u guys think if the 2 inch or 3 inch body lift
I am not sure, but I think you might be able to get away with 37s without a body lift. Im not familar with the offroad rims and their backspacing, however, I would recommend not getting a body lift. If you have to I would put different wheels on with more backspacing. I have heard of some bad problems with body lifts, not to mention they look wierd, and are not really ment for off-roading. With my rig I feel I could clear 37s without much rubbing at all. I just dont have the money for 37s.
see i have the same truck and lift as u but i have stock tires at the moment and i am looking for new ones i know i could clear 35 but i really want 37 and i want the all terrains because i really want them i would get the 315 but they are black wall and i really want a white wall so thats my reason for wantting 37s
Well than I say go with 37s. You can always do a little fender trimming. You should just do what you want. Ive also heard wheel spacers can give better tire clearence, but I think they can wear steering components out quickly. By the way how wide are those wheels? They need to be at least 8" wide if your going with 12.50 wide 37s. I would recommend 10" wide rims though. I running 8s with my tires and they are not wearing very evenly.
i got a 5" suspension lift and had to go with a 3500 diesel spring (to get an extra 1.5 inches) otherwise they will rub like a mother f'r especially the drivers side. johnny law made me put fender flares on and i have to trim the drivers side out a bit by the door because it does rub on a sharp turn

if i had the right backspacing on my rims and a little fender trimming i could clear 40s

Yea, I got 12.50s. My front tires are getting rounded and rear are getting a flat spot in middle, and I dont have that many miles on them.

Body lifts are fine if you get a real kit and not a half *** hockey puck or 2x4 job. Sure suspension is always better but for an extra two inches or so they're not as bad as people think. Also ounce you raise the bumper you can hardly even tell.
Anyways, the 37s will clear on an off road. I have a 3" and 33"s and if I had some off set rims could clear 35s no problem.
