Hercules Terra Trac M/T
Guys look up this tire and gimme your input i trust your judgement as well as others on tires for snow+mud performance and easy on wear. anybody got a clue on what these tires perform in any catagories cause i might be getting them and i really wanna know whats up.
I personally don't care much for the Hercules brand name. I just remember that about 10 years ago, the local tire shop was selling this brand name to the mine that my dad worked for, and they were horrible. While great for the muddy roads, the rocks were eating up the tires something fierce. One or two flats a week per truck were the norm, while the vehicles with other brands were not getting anywhere as many flats.
I don't remember the model of tire, just the brand name, and they may have improved since then.

now its many a years later im hoping someone here has experiance w/ this tire recently im hearing nothing but good from the tire guy but you know hes trying to sell it duh, so what remains is how good is the tire today? is it a good deal 540$ installed?
Well chief I've never heard of that tire around here , but I don't think that the tread pattern is impressive.
I got my Dayton Timberline MTs for about the same price . They ain't the greatest , but they'll get ya through most crap.

Don't know man, I've never heard of them either, sorry. But I would have to agree the tread pattern doesn't look that impressive, looks can be deceiving though. Is this the only tire that you are considering???

I thought Hercules was an off brand of Cooper...I know from the Hercules web page that they also manufacture the Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip, Mickey Thompson tires, and Dick Cepek tires. They also make the Durango brand of tires, sold by Pep Boys.
If they have ties to Cooper, be careful! Cooper has several recalls right now based of belt seperation issues.
Personally, reading the site, your tire is offered in a limited number of sizes, and is geared towards smaller trucks. I'd recommend the Durango M/T over the one you want. It has a higher GVW and a more aggresive tread. I can tell you they work awesome off road, but are a bit noisier than an A/T!
