RE: still no heat??!!?!?!!!!?!!
i have a 98 dodge ram sport and i have had the girgle sound before. you have air trapped in your heater core. i ran it for a while with the front at a higher elevation than the back of the truck and then added coolant 50/50 as it needed it. i just replaced the water pump and now have to do that again. it is a pain in the a__ but easy to do.

I have 97 and a 98 with poor heat. I suspect the blend door since I replace the waterpump, thermostat, flushed the system, ran a hose straight into the heater core to check flow, and then bled the air out of the system. To bleed the air out of the system I loosened the clamp on the heater hose going to the driver side of the water pump and slipped the hose back (not off) until I got it to leak out some fluid and the stream was constant. it is not much fluid and does tend to spray every where because of the fan, but hey it works.

Someone else posted this in another thread, but they were right on. You can drill a small hole in the thermostat (assuming you have a good thermostat...many are bad from the parts shelf!), but you can also park your truck on a steep incline and force the air to the highest point in the system which would be the top of the radiator. Let it run for a bit with the heater on and the air should work its way out. Once it's out you should be able to top the coolant off. Check again when the truck is on a flat surface. This is the easy way. It's always worked for me.
