Hypertech or Mopar PCM
What is better, Hypertech or Mopar PCM. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 318. The engine is Hot Doged, K&B Pistons .030+, Crane Cam Extreme, Edelbrock Performance Heads, 1.7 roller rockers, 166K 2250-2350 stall torque converter, MSD 6A ignition and coil, K&N cold air intake, headers, catback exhaust( -catcnvtr), 33" tires. Can I use Both Hypertech and the PCM?

RE: Hypertech or Mopar PCM
Having used both, the Mopar PCM is better then the programmer hands down, and it would give you much better results with the mods you have. The Hypertech programmer is designed for stock and near stock vehicles. With your mods though, you should definetly contact B&G for a custom flash. You would see the best results from that i'm sure.
No, you do not want to use the Hypertech with a Mopar PCM because you would essentially just be using the Hypertech since it replaces the PCM's programming with its own.

A B&G flash is actually a company who reprograms your eprom with custom tuning to your specs and should be perfect for your application idk how expensive it is, but i know it prly will cost a bit.

Jet chips are worthless. You will feel a gain at first, but since the stock PCM settings are still present, it will compensate to bring everything back into spec per its preprogrmmed settings. That is why programmers, performance PCM's, or custom flashes are the best way to go. They all replace the stock programming so the PCM has no choice but to use the new values.
