for the love of god im gonna knock on wood .. but my 01' stocker is still in, and it seems like last winter and especially this winter she has a HARD time trying to crank when its cold. the CCA are hurting bad,, but 5 yrs on a stocker isnt bad at all.. atleast i think so.. getting really close to go to dual red tops and a 205amp alt but its still gonna be afew more weeks i wreckin.. lets see if she lasts..
might be asking for one of them fancy jump boxes for xmass .. lol

Just when i was taking the old battery out, one of the hold down bolts stripped out and actually one of the fasteners rotted away.Butits cool seeing everyone get in on this subject.I kniw theres more out there that have just replaced there tired and numerous jump started battery so lets see more stories..

I had the same idea Glideman88 had. Just waited till it died and replaced it then. Like I said earlier, the 98 just went a couple months ago...but it did go all of a sudden. I jumped it and drove it up to Napa and replaced it same day. No use replacing my 2000 yet because it could have 1 year or 3 years left.
Cross that bridge when the time comes and keep a set of cables under the back seat just in case.

I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier that is still on the original battery. It is one of those maintenance free units and the eye is still green. That's what I put in my Dodge when I rebuilt the engine. I took the old battery out and put it in my sister's 1976 Lincoln. The old battery was put there (I am certain) but the car dealership where I bought the truck; however, I wanted something with a warranty and peace of mind.
As some people stated, local weather conditions are what will kill a battery, especially heat.
