One good way to add horsepower to the 5.2 is by adding a set of 1.7 roller rockers. Basically for about $400 ( including gaskets ) your truck will act like you replaced the camshaft with one that has more lift. When I checked into the hypertech programmer for my 01, I found that it does not allow changes to shifting points. The 4.11 gears will help your towing power immensely but again it comes with increased RPM. Also if your truck is 4WD you MUST change both front and rear gears or you will rip out the transfer case.

There are many places that re-program Ram computers. I've not had any experience with them but here are the links from my research into this:

http://www.socaldakota.com/customflash.html
http://www.bgperformancepcm.com/

I am sure others will respond to this list and provide positive and/or negative recommendations for each.

I towed a pretty heavy homemade car trailor from florida to the north end of atlanta georgia and back and the truck was in O/D and never had a problem but i do reccomend adding 1 thing to your truck along with all others input here put a B&M tranny cooler in your truck.Under heavy load your tranny is working harder and it needs the cooling under a payload. So others input here is all good make sure you put a tranny cooler in or you may have a bigger pricetag on your repairbill then you want..

thanks
pat

ramsportguy- I don't want to steal this thread, but what size of a tranny cooler did you install in your truck. I tow also, and definitely don't want to ruin my tranny prematurely. Sounds like a beneficial upgrade for people who tow. Thanks.
