I was having the same dilemma and then I went to a local car audio shop...they have truck boxes that fit 12" subs. They fit behind driver/pass side no problem. I had to go with one 12" because the amp i have is too big to fit under any part of the bench and I had to put it behind the drivers side. the best way to install it is to take out the bench and run the rca's and the speaker wire up the middle (depending on what you're hooking up, I have a 5 channel amp so I hooked up all 4 speakers and the sub) and run power on drivers side. You should keep the rca's away from the power wire to eliminate distortion. If you have an amp with crossovers built in you don't have to worry what frequencies the deck is sending because the amp will filter them, so you're only getting lows to the sub.

Money can be better spent than on a cap........................if your electrical system cant handle the load it has with jst the system, once the cap drains.....whitch is about 1/2 second it is jst another thing for the alternator to charge.....now I will say it does help smooth out voltage spikes and drops some.........it may help dimming slighty with slow drum beats......but thats really all I can say for a cap.

Remove that center seat/console setup, and you can install a triple sub, bandpass type enclosure. I use a single 10 Audiobahn. I can take a pic if you want. It's in a box that's 16 x16 x 15?..... I put a LOT of power thru it for the box it's in....lol. I can tame it pretty well though. And if I understand the head unit, I can phase the sub, 180 degrees? I think it means the excursion's direction changes to make the "thump". Don't quote me tho...... I get dizzy thinking like that.........lol.

At the moment, I have also left the seat brackets intact as the sub box fit's between the rear brackets, and the cab rear wall. I have removed all the plastic trays, and tool storage, etc. I am actually planning to fabricate some sort of console for the middle. A console that suites my needs....lol. A cooler, and my bowl of weedies.

And having the seat gone makes the area open up. I am claustrophobic too.

The biggest reward is not having having to haul you gf's EXCESSIVELY WIDE, BEST FRIEND, HOME!!!!... And make no mistake my friend, women who are highly intoxicated, can fart enough to charge a 10lb NOS bottle. That is as soon as the compressed gas bubble enters the atmosphere via her belt line around the FUPA...... (fat upper pu##y area)...........no disrespect to this site...... just stating a "definition".....lol.

And as far a being manly goes.....your friends can never catch with your old lady trying to get romantic right next to you. She falls into the hole when she tries to slide over.

Good luck with you ride amigo.

Ok, here's my "practical for me" setup....LOL. Don't laugh......

It's a single Audiobahn AlumQ10....

For those who are visually gifted, yes those are stains in the rug, and crumbs on the floor..... Do you know what TFB means? Not TSB,...but TFB. Ok, cool...........LOL....just breakin chops. The white basket is my inhalers, pills, etc. The red is my junk basket. A semi organized junk basket. Cologne, binoculars, pad and pen, napkins, and so on. I'm a prepared guy...LOL. The blue basket is my 2 set of sunglasses, and 2 piles of white bar mop towels. I ALWAYS carry a towel. I'm bald headed, and sweat running down my skin makes me mad...lol. I keep everything covered with towels so you can't see and the sun in the summer time. It's primative, but it works.

She my girl, and she's LOYAL!

Anyway, here ya go. Let me have it Mayfair, I'm ready.
