I think your going to have trouble finding the space for them, you might be able to get away with putting them under the drivers and passenger seats. If you put them behind the seat I doubt youll be able to push the seat all the way back even if its a custom box. Pioneer and JBL? have a low profile sub out. The Pioneer 12" is only 4" deep and the 10 is 3.5" deep I believe.

Whats the mounting depth and required box size for those subs? That will help, maybe someone can draw you up a quick design with some measurments.

Ill probably either go with the 10" or Ill wait for the 8" to come out and toss one or two in some custom boxes behind the seat. Does anyone know whats involved with hooking an amp up to the factory deck (premium sound package if it matters)?

I have a 2000 reg cab, and had two 12" comp vrs in it. the box i had was a Probox truck box that i bought from a local audio parts store. It was one long box that was divided internally in the middle. I would post pics, but the subs, along with my stereo, were stolen last saturday morning, the day after my birthday. It fit perfect and sounded awesome. I had a crossfire vr-1000d amp that could blow them both out easy. Couldn't lean the seats back to far, but still could sit comfortably. The amp is mounted underneath the center seat, so to get it all in I took the whole bench out. I still have the amp, since the seat has to be removed to get it out. That is probably what will be going back into it, so if I get it before you do, I'll post some pics, but there is no guarentee that i will.

really all u have to do to hook up an amp to the stock deck is splice into one of the rear speaker wires, and use a thing that switches the 2 wires to rca cables, for the life of me i cant remember what their called. pick one up at walmart or local speaker shop.
then for the remote wire you could splice into the factory wiring behind the deck or just hook one up to a switch straight from battery (switch preferred) so you can turn the amp on and off as desired from the driverseat. probably want a fuse in the remote wire close the the battery, though its not necessary.

You could do that how ever it would never sound correct because the rear speakers are not solely for bass as a subwoofer is designed to be. There is really no way to have a subwoofer with a stock deck unless your system came with a subwoofer.

that is not true
this is why they invented a little thing called a crossover
usually built into the amlifier.
most cd players even aftermarket, dont have any output that is soley for low frequencies, 95% of them send out all frequencies from all outputs, even if it is marked "subwoofer"

ZING!!!!

There is plenty of room behind the seats as long as you take those plastic storge "things" out from behind the seats.
