As Scottr1110 stated it is right behind the passenger side head. Feel for where the transmission and engine meet and then find the rubber grommet on the transmission. The CPS is mounted in such a way that it fits inside the grommet and senses the openings in the flex plate as it spins between the engine and torque converter. At the top of the CPS you will fins wiring that runs upward and if it is like mine the wiring leads behind the distributor.
Finally found a picture that I could include. This should help.

How are you all getting back there to mod it anyway, pullling the engine? [&:] Not much room back there.

i have a body lift so i can just reach between the frame and the body, might be harder for someone with stock ride.
To do the mod you disconnect the electrical connection, remove the two bolts, and pull the CPS out of the rubber grommet. The remove the rubber grommet. On your workbench is where you can elongate the CPS mounting holes, then you just re-install it without the rubber grommet in place. Before you tighten the bolts, slide the CPS as far as your elongated holes wil lallow you toward the oil filter then tighten. If you encounter pinging, loosen the bolts and slide the CPS a little away from the oil filter and re-tighten the bolts.
I can reach mine from on top after removing my cold air intake. Some people prefer to do this from underneath. I guess whatever your preference is.

Here's a pic from turkeyhunter1962's gallery with the engine out. You can see the notch in the transmission bell housing where the crankshaft position sensor mounts into. I've taken mine out from underneath and a buddies from above. I had better luck from underneath just because I could see what I was doing a little better.
