Hi everyone,
I'm brand new to the forum and need some advise. I recently bought a 1996 RAM 1500 V8 2WD that had been running fantastic for about 2 weeks. I know the computer was replaced and that it needed to be flashed. I was on my way to the dealer and stopped for a drink at a drive thru and it just stopped running. I thought it stalled but it will not start at all. It trys to turn over but seems like it is not getting fuel or maybe no spark. Any ideas? Could the computer be causing it all of the sudden, even though it has been runing great until now? Or maybe fuel pump? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Probably the computer. Just have it towed to the dealership.

 

Knowing the history of these things ... my money's on the fuel pump. Can it be heard when the key is turned on?

my vote goes to fuel pump, have fun... that thing is a joy to fix

 

actually the pump only takes like 3 hrs to do my dad just did a van earlier tonight ram van i figure ezier on a truck lighter jack up and drop and change

 

Thanks for the ideas, I'll be trying the fuel pump this weekend. I'll post what I find.
