WILL not IDLE Quick Help please!!
This morning i started the truck, it idled fine, i had a 6th sence that something may be wrong, cuz it sounded SLIGHTLY off. I drove about a mile, stopped at a light, and the truck died. I tried to start it, but it keeps dieing at idle. I turned it on and gave it gas, and its good as normal over 1500, so i drove it home keeping it over 1500....what is it? IAC? please help quick, i need to be at work at 10.
*at idle it doesnt hesitate, stumble, crackle, pop...nothing, it just dies nice and quitelike.

I am wondering if the vapor purge solenoid is not opening. It's possible, but I would put it as one of the last items on the list to check. Otherwise, my first suspect is the fuel pump pressure.

I dont know if this has any bearing on the situation, but i was driving over a LOT of washboard last night.
crankshaft position sensor,
i ended up replacing cap, rotor, wires, plugs, then another cap and rotor, then finally stopped throwing multiple misfire codes, ran good for a day then died and woundnt start, threw cam position code, replaced cps and runs good.
but from what you described, that is what was happening to my truck when it first started acting up. cps at autozone was $67
hopefully its somthing simple though, good luck hope this helped.

take the IAC out and clean it. more then likely its stuck or shot. since thats the only way to let air into the engine. if its not open at idle its gunna die

Could also be a faulty TPS. If you have a Haynes, it tells you what the voltage should be when the TPS is closed and wife open. Backprobing the TPS is a bitch, but can be done.
