I have a 1998 ram 1500 pickup it is and ext.cabi just bought it used and what i know about it is that is was made in canada, has a 5.2L v8 magnum, has 140k miles, automatic transmission, and aflowmaster exhaust single pipe into a 1 into 2 muffler and then strait out the back.
the truck runs real good and is mostly stock..will get pics up tomaro probly.
im looking to get some more power out of it, seems kinda boggy if u mat it so if anyone has some pointers on that plz let me know and im also looking for a cheap way to lift it 3 to 5 inches max because i dont know the current lift laws for maine so if u got anyideas im open.

You could start with getting the truck to breathe better. A high flow air filter (K&n, Fram) and a 180 degree thermostat to keep it cooler= more power and then maybe a chip (hypertech, superchips). Just a start... but will get you going.
yea i though about chips but they run about 200$ from what i seen and i dont have much money, i see a intake on ebay it like total cost is about $40-$50 i was thinking but not sure if its good[8D]
word of advice.... take it to your dodge dealer and have them service your truck's transmission with fresh filter and fluid to start with. i just went through hell withthe transmission in my recently purchased ramover the last 2 months because the idiotprevious owner decided to change the ATF before selling the truck. he used the wrong type of transmission fluid which really screwed upthe sensors and solenoids inside the trans. itsjust some cheap insurance compared to the $410.00 (the dealer wanted almost $700.00 for the same repair!) i had to spend to fix the results of someone else's "work".

K&N 14x3"
Fastman 50mm tb if 5.2 and 52mm if 5.9
Headers and hi flow cat. Behind the cat on a 98 or later there will be very little gain in power for money spent.
The first 4 should wake it up nicely. Need more then add an MP PCM or B&G flash.
Superchip and Hypertech will add less then the MP PCM or B&G
Jet chips cost performance and should never be added to a genII 5.2/5.9
