I just picked up a 97 ram 1500 today for $3000. It got a lot of miles 186,000 to be exact . Its all i could afford ( got a 12 week old at home).Anyways i know its got a few things to take care of.I think the oil pan, front dif, and transfer case are leaking oil so i am going to change some seals and oil. So i own a 91 toyota mr2 and all the toyota guys use red line mt 90 tranny fluid it works wonders. Nowthe dodge is aauto so what kinda of autotrans fluid is best. But i was thinking the redline mt 90 would do great in the difs and the transfer case, I dont know. If not whatkina of gear oil iseveryone using and what gaskets are the best.Also what kinda motor oil. I like to stick with factory parts oil filter, oil, etc. Now the truck has a 3 in suspension lift and 35's. So the tranny is kinda messed up, i think its the tranny, well i dont know here is what happens, If you are driving like a grandma it shifts all the gears fine, however if you get on the gas a little it take a long time to shift into the last gear, the if you let off the gas or trying to make it shift to the highest gear it drops a gear and jerks kinda hard. I dont hear a grinding or clunking, but it does it all the time. Sorry for the long post any replies would be helpful
