help me pleaseee
Hey.. so i had an aftermarket pioneer headunit.. and i decided i was going to get the new pioneer and the wiring harness is different. my old wiring harness was the snap in kind and this one i had to wire myself. I dont exactly know what happend but i went to plug it in and the headunit wouldnt turn on, the interior lights arent on and my power mirrors dont work.. im thinking its either a fuse.. something got pulled out, or i fried my wiring.. could someone please help me i dont understand what happend.. i checked my fuse box and also the one under the hood everything seems fine ive gone over everything i can see and the headunit wiring is fine i know that but i dont know if something crossed that could have fried or blown something...none of my fusesare blown. my trucks a 94 1500 ram with a 5.9

sorry i don't have anything specific, but when something like this happens to me, i try to back up and put it back like it was, in order to figure out what happened. i recommend removing the stereo, making sure no wires ground or touch, and see if you can get the other stuff working again, then move forward with stereo. if you don't already have them, see if you can get ahold of wiring diagrams. I was able to buy a shop manual download for my 01 for $10 on internet (later found one for free)
Double check all the fuses in your inside fusepanel. Test them with a tester if you can, if one side has power, the other side has power too on the fuse. I've installed a whole bunch of radios (worked for circuit city) and havnt really seen many problems where crossing a wire or grounding it out blew more than a fuse. If you get all ur stuff working again, check also the back of the radio (Pioneer usually has a push in on it) and for a fuse link on the yellow wire for the headunit. Good luck!
Man, I have the exact problem, I mean EXACT...down to the changing from the old pioneer to the new pioneer. My problem is a little bit worse though... Whatever happend, it must have fried something major because now my engine runs really really weak, it was fine before and now it barely runs. Im worried that it may cost out the *** to be fixed...if it even can be fixed. so hopefully somebody can help us out.
Hey guys, I figured it out!...Pull your I.E.D. Fuse and replace it...it will not appear blown, but one side of it is. As soon as i replaced it, my dome lights came back on, and everything else that didnt work came on..The I.E.D. fuse should be on the bottom left side of the fuse block...and its in a quick pull carrier...so try that and let me know what happens. I worked for me and i happily got my other stereo working also
. Good luck
