Default Holy s@#$!!!

I just installed my new hypertech programmer, and all i can say is holy s#$%!!! I cannot even feel the trany shift anymore and i gained so much power. The tires spin way too easy, and i still have 3.55's and 33" tires. I also experienced no pinging at all on the 93 octane setting while using 93 octane, and i still have the 195 thermo.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

Do you guys know if this is true... that the computer will eventually compensate back to its original operating parameters with these programmers? - thanks

If you use a programmer, the computer will not relearn and return to stock. If you do not have a programmer, and put a cold air intake on (something like that) the computer will eventually relearn and go back to stock settings.

The programmers copy the stock program into the unit and then erase and rewrite new values in the PCM. It willalso learnbut it will now be using the parameters inputed by the programmer.

Piggyback chips (like Jet chips) still have the stock programming in the PCM and the PCM will try to adjust itself back to those stock parameters.

sorry for jacking the thread but are you guys saying that if you install a k&n or cold air intake or basically anything other than a tuner that the pcm will relearn this and return back to stock settings making the upgrades useless?

So if you let more air in (K&N fipk) the pcm will just go back to stock settings and let less air in? HUH?
