Default 1999 Ram will not idle

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram Pickup 6 cyl 3.9 engine no power windows or door locks. Woke up this morning and battery dead. Junped it and started but would not idle. When the electrical system tester was on the truck, all seemed ok. The man then had me turn all electrical systems on (ac, radio, lights etc) and he said that the alternator should have went up in amps but it did not. I know the battery was charging because the alternator read 14 amps and after I got it running, it would start after I turned it off..

Removed Alternator and had it tested, it was fine. Tested battery, it was fine.

Could use come help here, Thanks for any reply
Edit: 14 volts according to the dash board guage, NOT 14 amps, thanks mojo.

Check the hot wire off the back of the altinator it might be broke or it's shorting out. Check the ground side of it as well, this wire usually grounds on a comman point on the driverside of the engine block behind A/C compressor that might be brock as well. last thing to look is the main fuse in the distribution block if it is blown you'll charge the battery but it can wreek havoc on everything else. This is also a comman problem with Dodge charging systems it is a big fuse 140A if I remember right and I had to get mine through the dealer. Double check your readings too you stated 14 amps should be 14 volts and about 95 amps. If you are only getting 14 amps its time for a new altinator. It'll be enough to charge the battery but not run any of your trucks systems

Me again.
Checked wires and fuses. all are ok. truck still dies when I take my foot off of the gas pedal. Also, after driving it yesterday (and it started ok), this morning battery was dead again. Obviously, there is a short. This is not going to be fun at all to find.

Thanks

Abe
