remove old gasket

Default remove old gasket

Hi. Imreplacing the plenum gasket . How do you get all of the remaining gasket material off where the intake mounts to the heads ?I used gasket remover and a razor but there is still some black residue on the intake. Is this ok ?

you want to get that surface as smooth as possible. I had used a wood chissel and gasket remover.

Scotch-Brite pads will help get the residue off. Try to get it as clean as possible.

yeah, scotch brite will work too.
dont laugh but semen acts like a real good gasket remover.
