RE: 35's on 3 inch Suspension?
I just recently had to replace the cylinders in my rear brake drums because my brakes went out on the freeway, my mechanic told me that when he lifted his truck he has basically replaced everything. I am definatley not down for that. Is there alot that can go wrong with body lifts? And another thing about a body lift, for the dodge ram, Performance Accessories only makes a 3" body lift and it is like $214. If i could find a two inch or even a one inch body lift for around 175 then i would go with the body. Does any one know where i can find this with all the extensions and even brackets for the bumpers, or is this impossible. And if i got the three inch, could i grind it down to be a two inch or would that make the blocks weaker? My truck does look nice though lol.

i got my fender's trimmed but not just a regular trim, he cut out two inches of the body between the door and the fender, then welded the body to the orignal angled fender. He had to grinde the weld down, bondo, primer, then paint the weld area. It was a bitch but i only had to pay him 135. I have cleareance for the 35's and with a two inch body i will have cleareance for 37's which is the future of this truck.

I am running 33's on 15x10's and I get a little rub at full lock with 3" spring spacers. I am due for new tires so I will be purchasing 35's. I plan on fixing the rub issue buy buying either control arms from a 5" lift, or buying adjustable control arms. I plan on trying to either recenter the axle in the wheel well, or move it forward some. The more you lift, the more it swings toward the rear. How does this plan sound.

I would like an explanation as to why longer control arms would not work. Longer control arms move the axle assembly further toward the front. I get rub in the back of the fender well at full lock. If I lifted the body 3 inches, then was in a serious articulation issue compressing the suspension 3 inches and then you have rub once again. I only get rub in the back of the fender and I know that the last six inches of the bumper is just plastic and can be trimmed buy me and my dremel instead of getting a body shop to cut, weld, and paint for a good bit. I know that type of job cost more than $135 if you don't have a friend or something. If there is some insight, please let me know as I really don't want to wsate the money on longer arms if it really won't work, but please explain, a lot of ideas are ruined by"that won't work" withno explanation, then it turns out youreallycan build a flying machine. I am not being a smartyor looking to argue, I just want an explanation.
