Ok I was driving home last night and I split the hose between the water pump and intake...bought a new one. Then I found out my water pump was bad also so I put a new one on.

Here is my question:
[ol][*]Now I have no heatbut the vehicle is not overheating....running really hot though...could there be blockage somewhere?[*]My alternator is not working either does that mean I fired it or does it need to dry out?[/ol]

Sounds like you need to let it run till warm, open radiator cap(while running) and add more fluid. Make sure the fluid is moving. Patience let it run a while.Did you take time putting the t-stat pipe on so the t-stat didn't move. Dumb question, but have to ask, are you sure it is not upside down. At some point it will get hot enough to open, but usually late.

 

I drove it to work..about 15 miles and it never got over 240 but the heater was blowing cold air...did not take the thermostat out and it was working before I changed the water pump.

Check the belt routing......and tension...

 

Belt tension is perfect but is it possible to have the belt on wrong? Could it turn the water pump the wrong direction?

Chopper1 thank you that is exactly what it was...I had the belt on wrong....Do you thinkI could have damaged anything?

If you never got over 240º you'll be fine.

 

also, make sure you get all the air bubbles out of the system... now that the belt is on there right, you may still have air trapped in the system.
