What's wrong with the tank?
Is it leaking?
If so, can you see the hole?
If yes, you may be able to fix it with fuel-tank putty for $2-$3 (available at autoparts stores).

the fuel filter is also the pressure regulator on the pump, get a mopar one for about 100 bucks and you may want to replace the sock on the bottom of pump while it is out. the filter is good for 100k and if your over that, i would just repace the entire pump assy.
