engine chatter???

i am getting a little chatter going up hills or pulling a trailer , i have 2000 5.9 quad cab with 150000 on it ... i run 87 octane do you think a higher grade of gas will stop it or do you think i have other issues??

Not sure about the Higher Octane gas....

Does the chatter seem to come from the Transmisson or the Engine?..

I have heard at times a Chatter may come from the rear end... Not really sure...

chatter meaning like a spark knock? i would check you plenum gasket and see if its leaking.
