Default Starter?

Do any of you know what might be causing my truck to not want to start? Most of the time the truck starts right up, but other times it takes 10-15 seconds and makes a whinding noise every time you try to start it. Could I possibly need a new starter? I recently replaced my spark plugs, plug wires, distributer cap, and rotor so I don't think any of those are the problem.

U could check your battery terminal and see if they are dirty or loose .
I'd do that before lookin into that starter.

i putall of my money on your fuel pump. you can turn the key to the on position (without starting) 2 or 3 times so that the pressure builds up in your fuel rails and then start it. or you could replace the fuel pump.

I just got a new fuel pump less than a month ago and cleaned and checked my battery terminals about the same time.

put a fuel pressure gauge on your fuel rail and check it out. my trucks doing the same thing.
did you buy an aftermarket pump? my dads friend owns a parts store and i can sometimes get parts cheap. when i went to him to get a fuel pump he told me because i was a friend he wouldnt sell me one. he said that i should get one from the dealer. says that when he sells aftermarket pumps that people usually come back after a few months with problems.

No the pump is not aftermarket. Yeah, the truck cranks it just takes a while and makes the whining noise when you try to crank it.
