Dont forget the chain link steering wheel, 5 inch exhaust tip and neon lights. All these will make you 5Xs faster from the light

Some observations from my own lifetime:
- Unless it's done in a real professional way (and even then), drastically altering the appearance of a car purely for cosmetic purposes tends to attract the attention of the police. While a few modest alterations should be fine, ultra-defined cars such as ricers can likely be found under certain criminal profiles.
- Cosmetic appearance does nothing for performance and is IMO a waste of money, except perhaps for car shows.
- Racing on a public highway for any reason is strictly against the law and can result in a serious citation to include possible jail time (it's very illegal, worse than running a red light) as it falls under the 'reckless endangerment of public safety' category.
> So is tire spinning as this is called reckless driving, or willful loss of control.
- The best automobile for keeping the peace is a plain jane automobile.
> While under-hood modifications add power, the lack of exterior clues helps keep law enforcement off your back.

p.s.: It is possible these things don't dawn on human males until we're around 40 years old [sm=lol.gif]
p.s.s.: yes yes, I do admit the occasional race can be very satisfying LOL, but I usually let off the gas by the time I get to the speed limit (and if you don't got them beat by then, you've lost). Still, it's illegal but not as bad as going twice the limit !

Just some bs from someone who has lost his license before, but nowadays has an enviably clean driving record.
So I'm no better than anybody lol, hope it helps someone thou.

My first couple cars were modded compacts and it's all a big waste of money. The V8 magnum with 4x4 is the best setup I've ever had for reliability, power and maintenance. I put my truck through some really harsh (almost scary) offroading last weekend and it was the most fun I'd had in a while. There's no substitute. I'm going again maybe tomorow with the camera this time.

I am proud to say that I am 20 and completely agree with all of you. There is no way I would trade my 96 ext. cab for a ricer. Keep up the good work!

I am currently 19 and have never liked rice my entire life. [sm=americanasmiley.gif] When i was about 5, my uncle started to bring me to car shows and from the beginning i was always into american muslce and have hated anything rice. Don't get me wrong they get good gas mileage, but they're not made for performance and people do stupid things to them, and i mean really stupid things. I hate the idea of a tiny 4 banger with a giant turbo, all s*$% like that i hate. Luckily, none of my friends have any rice and are all into american muslce. My brother's friends, on the other hand, are completely opposite. They all have rice and think they know everything, and i have had to help them with their cars when they can't do it. Ricers are the kinds of people who think if you slap on an air intake and an exhaust, it automatically makes your car faster than everyone else on the road, and from the ricers that i have seen, have no experience with cars. They bring their car to a garage to do simple things like an air intake. I mean there are those who are into rice who are very talented at what they do. But i still do not like the whole rice/euro thing. The biggest difference between ameican muslce and rice (by rice i do not just mean foreign, i mean all compacts, and yes that includes neons) is: people who own american muscle usually go for performance and looks come second, on the other hand people with rice go for looks first and maybe something that has to do with performance after. You cannot beat the sound of an american V8.

All my friends love those little import cars, but I dont see the big deal. What I hate the most though is when I see them turning american cars into those little sh** boxes. I would have to say that dodge is leading the way in "american ricers" with the neon. I love my dodge, but i hate seeing those little neons all riced out.

Im 18 and ive got an 01 1500 Offroad, and i wouldnt trade it for the world. Its packed full of power, but adding some more couldnt hurt . Which brings me to a question for any of you that have used tuners, whats the best tuner I can get without taking a huge bite out of my wallet.
