problems, problems, and more problems...
Well, the good news is the stealership refunded my money for the "mis"-diagnosis. Made the service manager and the service tech look like the lying fools they are. It was hilarious, they had 9-10 people in their waiting room bug eyed and motionless while I went off on them. I bet they'll think twice about having their vehicles worked on there again after my episode. The looks on their faces was priceless....combination of fear and disgust. I wished them all luck, and said "you're going to need it" as they practically had to drag me away from their customers and over to the cashier. At the cashier, the service manager said if I would bring in my receipt for the new sensor I bought, they will reimburse me for that. I guess when he made that offer, he probably figured I wouldn't have the ***** to come back with the receipt. Because when I reached in my pocket and threw it up on the counter, he didn't look to damn happy.Damn straight, I came prepared.
Anyhow, on to the bad news.....trucks is still dead as a doornail.
Got fuel at the rails, so I went and bought a pressure gauge. Keyed on, it jumps to 48 psi., drops a few psi after the pump kicks off, then ever so slowly (about 5 minutes) drops to about 35 psi. The Haynes manual I have specs the pressure at 35-45psi. So I suppose that's eliminated.
Popped out the IAC, didn't look bad at all, but cleaned the hell out of it anyway. Hosed the TB and air passages best I could. Don't think that's the problem.
Unhooked the battery, keyed on for 30 seconds to clear the codes, and hooked the battery back up.Codes gone except for the obvious,#12battery disconnect within the last 50 cycles.
Try to start, cranks fine but wont fire. Check codes again. Now got code #11, no signal from distributor. Hooked the tester up to the distributor connector for the umpteenth time and crank engine. Good pulse zero to about four and a half volts. Get out schematic for pcm and locate distributor signal wire, probed at pcm andcranked engine again. AH HA!! little to no voltage, wire must be fried somewhere between pcm and distributor connector. Rigged a lenght of wire fromthe pcm to the distributor connector. Code#11 disapears, YEAH! Hold my breath and crank engine again.....won't fire...damnit, damnit, damnit!!!!
I'm at a loss, I've checked and rechecked everything I can fathom, short of the signal to the injectors. I'm still "noid-less".You should haveseen the look of confusion onthe parts store employees face when I asked him where his noid lights were. I explained to him what a noid light is, and after a few seconds of admiring his blank stare, I said "never mind, I'll look around myself"......where do they get these people? And of course, they don't stock them, online order only.GGGRRRR!
I'm not so sure the stealership actually checked the catalytic convertor. Seems like it would still start at least evenif that was the problem.I asked the retards if they actually checked the cat or did they just pull the code. The service manager jumped in and started runing off about how they hooked it up and took the time torun all these different test on this and that, checked the flow and pressure of the exhaust, blah, blah, blah. Once he was done sticking his foot in his mouth, I looked at the technician and asked himtwo simple questions. "The vehicle has to be running for all these test, correct? He replied "yes". So then I asked him how he managed to complete "all" these test in 5 minutes or less, because that was all the longer the truck would run at the time. The silence was deafining, and that said it all, he wouldn't even look at me, just stared at the floor. So I turned back to the service manager and said, "why did you charge me for over an hours worth of labor when you couldn't have done more than 5 minutes worth of work to it?" Again, silence, you could hear a pin drop......yah, dip****, busted and right in front of all your waiting customers. Sucks to be you. Paybacks are hell buddy.
I'm at a loss where to go from here. I must be overlooking something. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I give myself a concussion banging my head against the damn wall......Johnnie Walker time, that always helps.
Thanks again for all the previous suggestions.

try having someone try to start the truck and watch to see if the iac opens.
i jumped the counter once at the dealership once. everyone in the building stopped and watched. guy tried telling me that i abused my ride (i did but thats not the point) and that it wasnt covered under warranty any more and that he wasnt gonna give me a rental.
to make a short story shorter. i got my rental and my ride fixed
