What should be my next tire?
Guy I know has 37s on his Ram. He doesn't wheel it much at all and says he loves them, so thats mainly on the road driving. Also said they were awesome on the snow and he was realy impressed with them. The one time he took it wheeling they did just fine on the sandy beach and on the small rock/pebbles on the beach, he never got stuck and a few others did.
Thats about it, its a generic happy statement about the tires. It was just a side conversation we had when wheeling.

I really like my Trxus MTs. They are sticky on the rocks, clean well, have sipes and I got 30k out of mine.
Shott, if you run rocks, those Nitto Mud Grapplers suck after they've worn some. There just aren't very many biting edges or lateral grip on the rocks.

Ive got 33" pro comp all terrains, and theyre wearin down fast, but it doesnt bother me cause i plan on replacing my rims and tires here soon anyway. Which btw if anyone has any rims that would fit my truck they wanna sell or trade

I really leaning towards either the irok or the mtr. , i might still consiter the trxus though. heres the thing. i know exactly what to expect out of the irok on the trails. but i dont know about its street performance. the MTR is just the other way around
Not trying to influence your decision. I have MTR 35's...I'll just tell you the good and the bad about the MTR's...
Good...
[ul][*]I have 35k on them right now and have about half the tread left. I'm really happy about that. I never expected to get that much out of them.[*]Relatively quiet on the road, at least for a mud tire[*]Good grip in mud, sand, and snow. Don't know about rock crawling.[*]Self clean pretty well except in heavy, heavy clay. But I don't know of anything that self cleans well in that.[/ul]
Bad...
[ul][*]My set has been impossible to keep balanced. I'm in every 5k to have them rebalanced.[*]Soft compound rips easy. Again, not uncommon for mud tires. I've taken a couple chunks out of the treads on trail rides. This could also explain the balance problem.[/ul]
All-in-all, I think the MTR's are a good compromise for someone who wants the best of both worlds, on and off road. Others do better off road but are terrible on the highway.

Tani, I run Dayton Timberline ATs 285/75 16s and they last real well. My 76 Jeep and 94 Nissan would eat up tires. The first set was on the truck when bought it and I put 28000 mi on them I don't know how many miles they had when I bought the truck. So I just put the same ones back on. They are not noisy and the have good grip.
I have just taken a set of MT baja claw radial off my 1500. Well they looked good ill say that! They also did grip well in the mud when they had good tread but as they got close to the limit they were useless on the road. I also feel that they are to much due to noise and manners on the road. I guess it comes down to what you are used to as i am more of a comfort man. They lasted a fair while mind you and you could live with them.

When i bought my truck it had the mt baja claw radials on it I ran them for 20k. no idea how long they have been on the truck. When i bought new tires i got the goodyear mtr's. Ive had them for 23k miles. I like both the tires the only difference i noticed is the increase in road noise over the bajas. They perform the same in sand mud and the light wheeling that i do. and they do sling a little more mud on the sid of the truck but thats the point.
