Be thankful it's 5 wire. The one wire stuff GM uses just complicates the process with having to figure out resistors and such. PITA if you as me! Sorry I wasn't much help to your question though other than I can say that you WILL need the relay, maybe more than one depending on the schematic. I just can't visualize very well when i read.

i have installed several of these power lock systems.. usually i have made the locks myself.. but there are a few that i have used factory.. usually the wire coming out for power lock / unlock are what you will need to use.. but yes.. you HAVE to use a relay.. when you lock.. it sends your voltage one way.. when you unlock it sends it the other way.. check out ebay.. they sell the remote lock relay modules that will work like a charm... and they arent that expensive
My truck is NOT equipped w/ keyless remote so is this the relay that will work? http://cgi.ebay.com/12-Volt-30-40-Am...QQcmdZViewItem

As soon as the weather starts to warm up again I plan to tear back into the truck and get this project done. Right now w/ the sub-zero temps and several inches of new snow, it's just too hard (and expensive) to keep the garage heated to a decent temperature.

on a quick glance that looks like the one you need.. you will need two of them tho.. one for lock.. one for unlock .. you will have to pay special attention to how you hook them up as you will blow fuse after fuse until its hooked up right.. this will ONLY work if you have a NEGATIVE INPUT door lock system.. and if i am remembering right the ram does have that.. not sure if mine does.. going to find out soon enough when i put the remote start/locks/alarm on it tho.. that diagram on the link you gave me is correct.. print it out and use it..
