Default Installing a BOA remote starter & lock

I started to install an Boa remote system in my truck today. So far everthing is fairly straight forward with the starter portion of the installation and after doing a search of these forums, I see that I'll have to use a relay to Neg. trigger the parking lights.

BUT for some reason I'm stumped as to how to wire up the door locks.

I printed out the wire color code sheet from the BOA website a couple weeks ago but I'm not sure which wires to use. The sheet lists both a (power lock & unlock) anddoor motor (lock & unlock) and the installation manual is sort of vague about which "type" of door lock system our trucks have?

Does anyone here have an experience with the BOA installs? This isreally embarrassing to ask as I'm actually one of the Electronics Techs where I work.

You have to use a relay or if you can do it with your particular remote start use a relay module...

It is the BOA model 265B

So do I connect the control box wires to the "power lock & unlock" wires? Or to the "lock & unlock motor" wires? And is the fused purple controller wire hook to any 12v constant source?

I know this make me sound dense but I'm actually losing sleep tonight trying to figure out what probably is a really simple thing.....

P.S. THANK YOU in advance for the assistance!

I also have the BOA 265B, but I haven't installed it yet. Prolly gonna take a day off next week to install it, so I'm watching this post with great interest.

Sorry I can't help right now.

Habeba86 - What do you mean use a relay for the power door locks - can you be more specific?

I do a couple hundred R/S's a year at my shop. Hope this helps. If you need help with the wiring on the relays just let me know. I can walk you through that. If you have factory keyless, the "central timer module" is above the gas pedal. You can find lock and unlock there, you will just use a positive 12v trigger for lock and the you will need to cut the pink/green and run the switch side of the wire to pin # 87a, the motor side to pin# 30, constant 12volt to pin # 87 & #85, and a negative unlock trigger from your 265 R/S to pin # 86. I beleive the Boa only has negative outputs for the doorlocks, if thats the case, you will also need a relay for the positve 12volt lock. You need to convert from negative to positive. Pin # 30 & #86 get constant 12volt, negative trigger on # 85 from the Boa and positive out to the orange/green door lock wire. If you dont have the CTM above the gas peadl, you need to "5-wire" both the lock and unlock.

Keyless models use positive trigger for lock, and 5-wire for unlock. Can also find wires at the central timer module to the right side of the steering column, lock is orange/green, unlock is pink/green.

i have installed several of these power lock systems.. usually i have made the locks myself.. but there are a few that i have used factory.. usually the wire coming out for power lock / unlock are what you will need to use.. but yes.. you HAVE to use a relay.. when you lock.. it sends your voltage one way.. when you unlock it sends it the other way.. check out ebay.. they sell the remote lock relay modules that will work like a charm... and they arent that expensive
