I think I have the same kit that you ordered. It all went on pretty smoothly but I had to buy about a two inch piece to get it to fit right over the axle. I say for the cost it's worth it but i still haven't bought any tips. The only down part is that it's not mandril bent but overall it's a good system and it sounds great.

no myth... happend on my 2000 5.9 ... did the dual out flowmasters and low end torque (part throttle) dropped way off... mileage dropped 1~1.5 mpg. put in 2.25 reducers right after the muffler and alot of low end came back. mileage came back by 1.0~1.25 mpg.

racing is different from every day driving.

its amazing if you take the same two trucks with the same exhaust how you get different results ....this truck is my daily driver , hauler and to be honest i have not seen the lost..my city driving use to be 15 mpg. last time i check i got 16.5 mpg .. theres a slight grade in my area i can do 50mph keep the rpm at 1100.. Of course i dont want every one to run my set up cause it mite not work for them...

yeah that could be true... for me however, every truck/car i opened up the exhaust too much, lost part throttle, low end torque. WOT may have been differrent but I dont drive WOT enough to make me want to leave it that way. one suggestion is an exhaust dump with a controller on it.. Quicktime performance makes one that would allow you to bypass the muffler all together. that way with the flick of a switch, you could go from streetable to raceable in a matter of seconds.

I couldn't do that with a switch they would fail the emissions polly same for padodgeram.

Off topic but has anybody did the gas pedal mod? Well thats what we call it over on stangnet where you take the slack out of the pedal to get better thottle response. I did it on my stang and its crasy afterwards thinking about doing it to the ram

never heard of the gas pedal mod.. be intresting to hear who did it.... as far as emmissions in pa wouldnt get away with doing that...i have my emmission /state insp. did you know when this first came to my area to many where passing so the nice state made some changes you know $$$$$$$ ..at one point there was a buzz going around on the exhaust if it didnt come from factory that it would fail !! another words you can have a performance muffler but not the dual out (factory look) you know its illeagle to have a lift on the truck where the bumper is above 31 inches ..TO MANY GREY AREAS WITH THE PA STATE INSP !!! ...sorry way off topic.

one thing to keep in mind is the output sizes... if you want high flow, single in dual out (2.5" outs) will get you there but at the cost of low end. if you want low end torque to stay put, then have the installer reduce the outputs right after the muffler to 2.25"... that will be slightly larger in flow area compared to a single 3" and will offer great flow but keeping low end torque.
It is actually a legitimate point. I think americans (not knocking, 'cause I am one and proud of it!) often get caught up in the 'bigger is better' concept. In reality, it all depends on the system working together. I don't know about losing mpg, but I can definitely see you sacrificing some low end if you open it up too much.

they do... bigger on the intake & exhaust will make the motor hella efficient at moving air in & out. the part throttle torque is what suffers. I experimented with both ends on my 2000 & 2005CTD and also on 2 bmw's. all had the same effect when messing with the intake or exhaust.

I talked with one guy who did a straight thru 5" exhaust on his diesel and lost so much low end he had to go back to 4". it screamed once the turbo was spooled but it was not practical for an every day driver.

Yeah there was a thing going around over on Stangnet a couple times about that exhaust thing. And as far as a lift goes I ask my inspection guy before i do anything to my stuff. I asked him about a lift he saidI could go 4 in. I told him I was looking at a 7 he was like umm I think that would be a little too much.

We have had emissions here forever. Lancaster up just got themwhat like 2 years ago? there was a lot of people at work with newer cars that failed and cost them a **** load to pass that shouldn't have had any problems.

I'll have to see if I have the gas pedal vid of my car to show ya what I mean
