I had an incident the other day(long story) and this hose got burned and melted in half, I need to know what it is so I can get a replacement part. I have the 5.9L V8. Thanks.

it looks like you could be looking at part of the cruise control.
where is it going?

 

It goes to some thingy under the battery. I still don't know what that thing does.

 

if it goes under the battery its part of the cruise control. its the speed control servo

 

agree.. other end should go up towards the throttle body.. and the opposite end should go into a black diaphram looking thing.. looks like a smaller longer brake booster.. cruise control.. best way to confirm..check your cruise control..

 

Yeah it goes under the battery and the other thicker wire there goes to the cruise, is this just a regular hose I can replace?

 

Aaaah, very interesting. Would a leaky manifold gasket cause poor cruise control function?

 

well there should be 2 lines going.. an actuall throttle cable.. and i think (IIRC) a vacume line,,, so yea....

pretty sure it actuates by vacume

here we go...
