cluster or bcm?
I have a 00 Ram w/ 5.9. My question is this, when start vehicle the ABS & air bag light come on, wait 10 to 15 seconds then the odometer flashes and the service engine (MIL) comes on, the odometer says "no Bus" and compass only says ccd, then the gas light comes on, none of the gauges work. This happened about 3 weeks ago, lasted for a few days then went back to normal. Last Friday same thing has happened. I have done the self check for ip cluster and the cluster works, so I am thinking bcm. Anyone out here have this problem before.
Thanks

this also happens when you program the PCM with a tuner like hypertech through the diag port right under the dash. wouldnt hurt to make sure that theres no garbage stuck in that harness.. its located (as your sitting in the drivers seat) to the right side of your right leg.. bout shin high. mounted right underneath the lowest point of the dash... almost right under where the ashtray/change/catch all tray opens.
if its good.. then id try reseting the pcm.. to reset.. pull the neg. batt cable of the batt. ,, put the key into the ignition rotate it to START and hold it to START for 30+ seconds.. release it and replace the neg batt cable. this will reset the PCM to factory settings.. if this doesnt help it. your PCM might be getting toasted.
did you install any kind of aftermarket coil to your ignition system by any chance?

ok. so this dash lights going bonkers happens after you use the RS function? (just trying to get that straight)
regardlesss.. wouldnt hurt to reset the pcm and trick it into relearning the truck..

this condition happened first about 3 weeks ago, stayed this way using r/s and with key, then went back to normal. condition returned last friday pm and has stayed with every start with r/s and with key.
cut the wire for the tach sensor (coil sensor) on the remote start.. do it to where you can put it back on if needed.. alot of crappy remote starts will after time .. feed some voltage back into the coil where its not supposed to be.. not sure of the results.. but im sure it cant be good.. might just be something as simple as that ( with the weather changes.. gettin cold like it has all over.. its not good on any electrical circuit.. could have killed.. or is killing the remote start)

Finally broke down and took truck into dealer, they totally disconnected the aftermartket remote start, and guess what, the dash started to work correctly.
Glad its fixed but miss my remote start/keyless entry
Thanks
