just bought 95 ram any advice before putting it on the road?
just bougth a 95 ram 4x4, 360, auto for $2800. As im sure you can imagine at that price its far from perfect, little rust here and there needs replacement sheetmetal on drivers door little rust over wheel well, bla bla. I am waiting to register cause im in the military and i want to register it out of state, so basically im just doing some tune up stuff to it before running it on the road..already did plugs, oil change, fuel filter typical stuff might need to do brakes in the future, but is there anything i should be looking for as far as stuff that could go wrong? i want to do a valve adjustment just cant find the clearance measurements anywhere so if anyone knows that would be helpful too THANKS!

some people will disagree and say leave well enough alone, but if it was mine i'd change transmission fluid and filter (leave bands alone) and front and rear differential oil. i'd also drain and flush radiator, heater core and put in new antifreeze. check belts, radiator hoses, heater hoses. i'd replace the belt(s) unless they looked new. pull off wheels and inspect brakes, wiggle front end parts. grease any and all places on front end and u-joints. look over tires for nails, knots, etc. oil door and hood hinges. check every fuse and bulb. clean battery terminals, then grease em up good.
yeah most of the inspection type stuff you just mentioned i did before i bought the truck..tranny fluid and filter is kind of a given especialy after reading all this stuff about them although the fluid is cherry red so that's a good sign differential was another thing on my listthanks a lot for the help

I agree with dhv. All that and leave alone what you can for now. There's another post in here about 'how many miles' or 'what have you replaced' or something like that. I put my list in there. I have over 160k on my 95 and if you're close to that, I'd start saving up for a new track bar at the very least.
