Ok, so it was liek 0F this morning, and not only did the truck MOAN when i put it in drive i noticed two things. My clutch fan squeaks, and there's a popping/crackling sound from the passenger side of the engine in radom intervals, doesn't seem like spark knock.

 

i had a 97 318 that had the clutch fansqueak the idler pully bearing was going causing the pulley on the water pump to vibrate. next thing i know no more squeak and no more water pump. as far as the popping noise could be something shorting out. any codes?

 

No codes no, it seesm to come from within the head.
