Default installed K&N FIPK more power

I just installed K&Ns FIPK on my 2000 ram 360. Before installation I took the throttle body off, cleaned it and the AIC solenoid. My trucks got 2 3/4 inch dual exhaust from the mainifolds back. No cats through flowmaster 40s. WOW. It really opened up the powerband. Tires melt a little easier now too. I installed a K&N FIPK on my 2003 Liberty Renagade and was impressed. I guess the dual exhaust on the truck really helped, becase the butt dynometer is happy....Now Im just waiting on the tax return for the lift, underdrive pulleys, and a fastman TB. Could anyone recomend a syntetic oil for the rears and transfer case. Im having trouble finding a store that carries it. Thanks alot guys

Glad to hear you like it nate! I emailed you a few times but my emails always failed to send. If you want some good synthetic oils try royal purple. It's about the best out there. Amsoil is good too. Go too www.3rdstrike.biz for your royal purple needs, the guy who owns it is named duane and he is very helpful. Youmust register on his site though but everything is much cheaper there. He also uses pay pal.Let him knowI sent you if you decide to go that way. Was the fipk packed alright and everything? I would do some research on underdrive pulleys too, I don;t know much about the 360 but on my 5.7 liter U/D pulleys are known to fry toner rings. What I would do if I were you is get a good msd ignition, some rockers and some headers. The headers will REALLY open up the air flow for you. Did you have alot of stuff left over from the install? I know I did when I installed it. Also, did it have everything you needed or was it missing anything?

Dave, everything was packed well and all the parts were included. Thanks for sending that piece of hose for the breather that attaches to the air hat. I recieved it on the 24th just like you said I would. To anyone that might buy something from motorider228, He is a very honest person as he refunded me my double payment for the fipk.....paypal....He shipped it the very next day and every piece of hardware was included. Thanks again dave, my truck appreiciates the fipk, my rear tires do not..

Haha yeah the rear tires aren't fond of mods. My rear tires hate me spending my money on mods. Let me know if it helps out your mileage at all. It helped me out 3.5 miles per gallon but I did have a dirty *** air filter when it was installed.

I haven't done any modifying, justmaintenance stuff, but have some interest.
Assume we are talking about fuel injector performance kit? How much work was it to install, and how much did it cost? You got noticable power increase from just doing that modification?
Thanks.

Well I bought this kit new for $310. I sold it used with everyhing for $150 to nate. I have seen them for around $280 or so new. If you are automotive inclined at all they are very easy to install and well worth it on a 2nd generation ram. I felt way more power out of this intake than I did out of the intake on my hemi. My 5.2 feels much more sluggish now without that intake.

I am somewhat mechanically inclined and have done some of my own automotive work. I just assumed because it was a fuel injector kit that meant changing out fuel injectors. I'm new to the idea of modifications. Just saw the whole setup and instructions on K&N website, did not realize it was just an intake modification. Seems pretty easy. I just have to decide if I need any modifying for this truck, it was purchased mainly as a towing, plowing, go get stuff vehicle.
Does this intake setup make the engine/truck louder going down the road?

Yeah it's just an intake, no need to touch the injectors or fuel delivery system, period. I couldn't tell if it made my truck louder because I already had a loud *** exhaust when I installed it.
