question on rear end

Default question on rear end

how do i know what gears i have in mine, i blew the pinion gear up haha so now i need to replace that, i have 2 little tags with the numbers 2528 on one and 35 on the other

Mine has the same tag, I have 3.55 gears...

If you wanted to be 100% sure, email dodge and ask for a build sheet, I did and it said what gears, what differentials, everything...

the tag under the front edge of the hood might have the info...

Pull the diff cover. There are numbers stamped into the ring gear, should be a date code then gear numbers. Divide the ring gear teeth by pinion teeth. example 41R/10P=4.10 ratio.

yeah i pulled the cover off earlier and had 2 big chunks of the pinion sitting in the bottom of the diff, i'll look into it more next week hopefully, good thing i have 2 trucks though or i'd be driving my work van with no radio
