Default Stalling

Hello to all! I am a newbie here. Looks like a great forum! Have a 96 4X4 Ram 5.9 great truck. A strange thing happened driving home the other day.Pulled up to a stop sign and it stalled. Started right back up though. No "Check engine" light. After a few more times I watched the tach, and it will drop way down but will somtimes recover and not die. Could this be a sensor problem? Anyone had this happen to them?
Thanks for any input!

welcome. check IAC (idle air control), on the back of the throttle body. its responsible for holding the idle. its a pretty common problem, try a search here for lots of posts, might even be some info at the DIY 'sticky' threads at the top.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the posts and it sure sounds like my problem. I will pull and clean as soon as it gets out of the single digits here. A great forum, lots of knowledge and very active. I will come back often.
