Lift appearance
I know you there are tons of tire and lift forums but after looking through them i never found what i was really looking for. I was wondering if putting a 3" suspension lift with 265/75/16 tires would look goofy on a 1999 Ram 1500 4x4 QC with a 5.2L v8. I would love to go with a bigger tire but money is a little tight i could possibly get 285/75/16 but i dont want to spend the money on the lift and bigger tires if it is going to look stupid. This is my dd but i off road on the weekends and sitting at stock hight isnt fun.
thanks in advance

IMO yes. But I have always been one for trying to 'stuff' the fender with as much rubber as I can (nearly impossible with these D-cut suckers). You should actually be able to fit that 285/75/16 in w/o the lift (depending on rim backspacing), but they will still look good with one as well. I hate to say it, but the 32's may look a little small. Maybe someone else has better experience though.
i think 265/75/16 might look a little puny with a lift.
i've got 285/75/16 on stock height and wheels with no rubbing.
its about as big as you can fit w/o lift, and in my opinion, these tires are a tad too big for standard 3.55 gears.
here's a pic.

The 285-75-16 should look fine with a 3" lift, I ran 265's on mine whan I first did the 3" lift and it looked a bit silly....33" tires look OK with a 3" lift ( I did this too) there is plenty of room for them but you might rub on the plastic innner fendersat lock to lock. Ihave 6" total now and the 33"s are way toosmall
