Engine codes
For anyone who has not read previous threads on this 98 Dodge Quad Laramie 2 x 4.
1. It went dead sitting atfast food window
2. Had it towed to my house the next day.
3. Posted here no fire and replaced the CPS, coil, wires, button, cap. Still no fire.
4. Has it towed to agarage specializing in computer diagnosis. They put a new computer in it $$$
5. Ran for 1 day then it would not starthad it towed back. This time the fusable link buss burned up..he said....OK...,fix it $$
6.Ran for 3 days and would not startagain that morning trying to go to work. When I got home, it started. I borrowed my next door niegbors truck. This time the shop came and got itand used it as an errand truck for a week...said he started it over 300 times and a code never showed. I got it back; he brought it to my driveway; and the starter is screaming...but it starts.
Another story. Lost all faith.
I have tried sevearl times to call, even went by the shop. Did not have time to fool with me when I went by. I can't be sure but always being out on hold for absurd amouts of time seems like acaller ID thing.
Today the trucks check engine light flashed on and off for about 15 seconds and went off. Never missed a beat. I was getting on the interstate uphill so it was working the 318.
Got it home..called the shop..sat on hold for 7 minutes and now writing here. All I wanted to tell him was:
OBD2 codes are PO300, 302,303,304,307. I know.. misfire codes but what do you think made the computer read miss. It never missed noticeably anyhow, pulled strong.
It has done this twice.
I also put in new plugs...
Called the shop two more times...no answer.
I can't afford to just take it to another shop to have them cost me another 1000.
Do you guys think a tuner might help. I asked the shop owner to give the 5.2 auto a bump when I first had the computer installed. said he couldn't got liability reasons.
Truck has 138,000 miles...burns no oil...yet. Always sythetic evry 4000 miles.
Thanks in advance
Michael
