Default Brakes (abs)

This is not a Dodge, but i thought this was the best place to ask this, and it would get answered fast. Anyways, i just did the ball joints on the driver's side on my mom's 2001 Yukon XL, and now when the car is just about to come to a stop the brakes pulsate, like when you are sliding on ice, but it's not sliding. Is this just air in the line? I did not take a brake line off though, so i don't know how air would have got in the system. Also, if it was the abs sensor causing this, would it set off the abs light on the dash?

Thanks

If the sensor air gap is a little to wide, it will not set a fault. Try pushing the sensor into the tone ring.

I'm pretty sure it is pushed in all the way, but i might have gotten some grease on it when i put it back in. I tried cleaning it all off, but there might be some on the end. Would this cause the problem, if it's a little dirty?

reset your computer, take the negative connection to the battery off when the trucks turned off and then reattach it... might be the computer

Once you remove the rotor and the backing plate, there is a plastic sensor mounted to the bearing with an allen headed screw. If your problem didn't exist before the brake job, then you've damaged the $100 sensor and it must be replaced. If the problem was there prior, then most likely corrosion has developed under the mounting flag on the sensor. The sensor mounting area must be rust free and level, or the ABS system cannot get a wheel speed reading correctly from that wheel.

Now the big money question is, which side did you damage if corrion is not present under the mounting tab.

Reseting the computer will not help in any way. Also, it will not be air in the system.
