I've pulled 10,000lbs with my stock 1500 all the time with no issues. I just needed to break the load down into two 5,000lb loads

So you felt the need to demonstrate this in a 3 1/2 yr old thread?

There's common sense in resurrecting an old conversation in which no one was interested any more?

I'm not suggesting that your opinion is in any way incorrect. I'm the guy who always cautions against putting too much trailer behind any truck because when things go wrong everyone in the vicinity is in danger. I just don't see the point in dragging up a discussion that's long dead.

what is with you guys and your half tons thinking you can safely tow 10000+ lbs. you should need a license to tow any trailer period cause of situations like this witch are not safe no matter how many upgrades you try and do.
I've towed 10,000+ with mine.
I know I can safely tow it.
Stopping is a different story.

He's right, no "witch" is safe no matter how many upgrades you do.

Replace the half ton driveline and springs, with 3/4, or 1 ton stuff.

No thanks! My witch already has the 3/4 ton driveline. LOL JK I'm lucky enough to have a half ton.

You still won't have the 3/4 ton or 1-ton frame though and even if you do swap the drivetrain over the courts may not see it your way.
