Default Hypertech III Programmer

Hey everyone I was just wondering if anybody can back up what hypertech claims as far as there programmer goes. I want to know if it really does adjust the shift points and also compensate for the tire size and adjust the speedo and odometer. Those are the main reasons why I want one and of couse to add a little bit more power. Any advise would be great!!!

I own one and it does everything you want except adjust shift points. Dodges 46re and I think 47re are not electronicly shifted. But overall I recommend one especially with other engine mods.

I don't believe you can adjust the speedo for tire size on a '97.

On a '97 you can adjust the rev limit, choose the HP tuning or stock, adjust top speed, and choose the fuel grade. That's it.

I'm not sure about the '97's, but on '01'sthe stock module can be reprogrammed for different tire sizes and shift points IF EQUIPPED WITH ABS. I had mine done at the stealership for $50. Took 'em about a half hour.

Well I guess it won't do anything that I really wanted it to do. Not sure if I'll spend the 300 bucks for it now. Thanks for the info so far on it guys.

Thats in error....the E in the model designation means the truck IS shifted electronicly.

Correct ... mostly. The 3-4 shift is electronically controlled ... the 1-2 and 2-3 are still hydraulic ... if I've read the FSM right.

Also ... according to the FSM ... the only difference between "P" and "N" is that in "P" the parking prawl is engaged. Goes against what I've heard here that there is no ATF pumped in "P".
