i have a engine and trans from a 1998 ram 4x4 and i want to put the engine in a 1987 truck with a 727 trans and trans case but i was told the toqque converter fron the 87 won't bolt up to the 98 flywheel and it has to be used for the crank sens. also does the trans from the 98 have to be used for the electronics or will it run with the 727 can some one please tell me how to do this !!!!!!!!!!!

 

Well, I know you are going to run into problems with the 727 lining up unless it is a 727-A. The more popular -B model is for big blocks and will not match-up. You need the -A (smallblock) variant to use with the 5.2 or 5.9 from these new Rams.

If your tranny came off a big block, it's a -B and it won't line up on a small block...

Or you could go the 904 route, they are nearly identical, minus the electronics and they are easy to upgrade and work on like the 727s are...

 

it has a 360 small block in it right now and it is mainly for off road and i want fuel injection for off road
