assembled in mexico???
would it be a bad idea to buy a truck that was assembled in mexico, i was searching for a ram truck to buy and when i read some of the vehicle history reports it said some of them were asembled in mexico. would it be a good idea to buy a truck that was assembled inn mexico or should i just buy one that was assembled in the good ol' usa.

i don't think there is anything wrong with it. 1st position of VIN code will tell you where it was made.
1=US
3=Mexico
additionally the 11th position is the mfg plant code.

My'97 was assembled in Saltillo, Mexico...
320,000 miles on theoriginal engine and tranny and still goin' strong. The most major problem I've had has been a water pump, and that wasn' too bad...

Mine was ASSEMBLED in Mexico. The three failures I've experienced have been parts failures ... fuel pump, heater core and radiator. No idea where these items were manufactured but they didn't break because they were put on the truck South of the Border.
