Just a quick question, how often should the A/C clutch be kicking on when the heater is running? My truck has been doing this for some time and I was just wondering about it the other day. It will kick on and the truck will idle down some, then 4 or 5 seconds later it will kick back off. 10 seconds or so later it will do the same thing. I don't know much about the heater and A/C systems and was just wondering if this was normal.

 

It's normal if you're using either of the defog/defrost settings.

 

my 01 does that too, even on the heater only (floor) position. i don't know if its normal or not.
