Default Rough Engin Idle 5.9L

I have developed a rough engine idle. It started this las weekend. The check engine light (the grand and usless tool) came on. When I ran the codes it came up as miss fire in #1 cylinder.I replaced the cap, rotor, plug wires, and checked the plugs.I had already put new plug and wires on it in July. Anyone got any ideas?

could be your fuel injectors as well. Does the code still come up? do a drive cycle and see if the code still comes up. Your iac motor could be gummed up too.

The light has not came back on sincecleared it sat. afternoon. I also had some carbon buildup on the butterflies in the throttle body. I cleaned that up and didn't really have any problems again till tonight. I might run some injector cleaner. and put a new plug in the #1 cylinder. I will also check the IAC motor.

Has anyone ever flushed the intake. I cant remeber what you call the stuff, but it comes in a can and you connect the line to the intake manifold. You run the engine until it sucks the contents of the can into the intake and chokes the motor. then you let it sit for a period of time. Anyone know what the call that stuff?

I worked on the truck this weekend. I put new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor on the truck. I discovered that the #8 cylinder was fouled and the cap and rotor had some wear and corrosion. The best I can figure is that since #8 had a fouled plug, the spark was arking in the distributor and prematurely firing the #1 cylinder since it was next in the firing order.

Anyways, I still need to clean the intake. I think you are correct about sea foam, but where in the world can I get the stuff. Everyone I contact acts like I am asking for a pink elephant. I also can't find it anywhere on the net. I know I have bought the stuff before, any clues?

Thanks, but I can't find it on any of the parts sites, when I enter sea foam in their search, it comes up with no matches found

They sell it at Pep Boys, AutoZone, Carquest, Napa etc. etc. Seems like you can get at almost any auto parts store you walk into.
