99 1500 5.9 on off on off on not working. Well I got my first code today. The tranny kicked down, the enging coughed and the light came on. It ran fine the rest of the way home. I pulled into the driveway and rememebered the on off deal. but i couldn't get it to work. Does my truck not support this?

it should. my 01 does. i just went out and tried it.
turn one click from lock to off, which does nothing,
then turn one more click of the key to get from off to on, so all the dash lights come on.
on - off - on -off - on. pause a moment in each.
the first 2 on's display mileage in odometer,
at the 3rd 'on' the code(s) displayed in the odometer. (or DONE if none)
if that wont work just go by an autozone, advance, etc, and they will read the codes for you.
just be sure and write down what they tell you and come back and research it.
DONT buy the o2 sensor or whatever they might say you need.

0123 TPS voltage high
0121TPS pedal position
0740 torque converter clutch malfunction

I tested the tps voltage it was 1.99 volts. This unit was new on Jan 4th from Pep Boys. Returned it for my money back and bought one from Advanced. Reset codes and Poof CEL is gone and truck runs fine. Just a bad one from Crap Boys
