Default Checking trans fluid level.

Not really a question, just a suggestion...

The other day my trans in my truck was acting funky, at one time the engine was reving and higher than it should for the speed when taking off...
I checked the level, and it was right up there while idleing in park, I decided to read the dipstick and it said for the truck to idle in NEUTRAL, did that and it was low, took a little over a quart and I put about 250 miles on it tonight and it has been flawless...

Anyone having trans problems make sure to check this...

I did read somewhere on this fourm someone saying that with the design of these trannys that there is no difference between park and neutral, but obviously the pump doesnt run it park...

Just a fore warning to anyone with trans problems.

If you're gonna leave it in nuetral you might wanna put a block under the tire or something before you end up chasing your truck down the street.

Good advice btw

thats correct, the fluid isn't being pumped in park. anything else including neutral it does.

that's why if the truck sits for days, it sometimes takes a few seconds after shifting into reverse or drive from park for the trans to respond normally.
