engine idles very low rpm
yeah, so i made a bad decision today. it invloved some mud and some deep puddles. the truck performed better than ever in the mud, sand, and inclines, but about 4 miles down the freeway the engine cut out. i popped the hood and i knew some stuff got wet, but no biggy. it started up again and it idled at a low rpm, about 500RPM. when i gave it some gas, then let off or hit the brakes, it completely died. i got it home, checked my intake manifold for any water, but all it turned out to be was some water on the Jet performance module. i took it off, shook it, cleaned it, then put it back in, and it is normal again. the CE light even turned off without an obdor removing the battery cable. anyone ever have this happen to them before? it totally F@#ked up my acceleration, jumping rpm's and very slow throttle response.
wow that's crazy. the whole connection is held tightly in place by a plastic case srewed in place. i bet the inside of the jet module got some water in it. off it goes.
The theory on Jet chips is that the PCM learns it's way around them in short time thus eliminating gains (if any). RM-Indy's tests are some objective information.
2 things here that are considered to be a complete waste of money (zero to negative gains) are Jet chips and throttle body spacers. Sorry.
