I have a 2 door 1996 Dodge Ram. On the drivers side while going down the road with the window closed it makes alot of noise in the cab. The door is not closing all the way and im wondering if it would be the latch in the door. It is very loud and when i pull the door handle to try and close it more it gets quieter. I really need help with this because i also get soaked everytime i go thru a carwash. please help guys!!!!!!!!!!

 

Sounds like you need to replace the weatherstrip around the door.

 

no the weather stripping is in good condition and installed correctly....i can physically apply pressure to the door and make it have a crack in it...like when the door is not shut all the way...even when i slam it shut it does this. Im thinking its the latch. but im no mechanic. im only 16

 

Did the door open too far one day, maybe the wind took it and bent the hinges a bit. You can try getting them adjusted but if that happened you probably sprung the hinges and you'll need new ones

 

so i should get new hinges on the door?

 

I'm not saying that would fix your problem but it's a place to start looking. I think that would be more common than a latch problem
